PATROL INTRODUCTION

We are the Bear patrol from 62nd Kilmacud Scouts. Our PL and APL are both fourteen with a good amount of scouting experience, however the other six members of our team have only just moved up from cubs. We have only really got to know each other since being put together for a team, but we all get along extremely well and work together very well, having lots of people with different skills yet similar senses of humour. All of our members are very enthusiastic about county cup, especially the members who haven’t gone before. We have worked really hard over the past few months, having lots of trainings outside of our scout meetings, as well as getting to know each other as well as we can.

Script

Narrator: Once upon a time, there was a young medieval scout called green and gold riding hood. Everyone called him/her that because he/she wore her neckerchief on her head. He/she was medieval because scouts were around during the middle ages, only no one knew about them because they were all killed in a vicious campfire song that got too into the Boogaloo years later. But that’s a story for another day.

Riding Hood: Mother I’m going to visit grandmother

Mother: Okay dear, but remember your grandmother lives at the top of a very dangerous hill. You must take the main trail.

Riding hood: Yes mother

Narrator: But alas, Riding hood didn’t stick to the proper trail because she wanted to take a selfie.

Riding hood: Wait what’s a selfie?

Narrator: Oops, selfies hadn’t been invented yet. Riding hood wanted to take a portrait of him/herself and admire his/her beauty, using this device called an iPhone

Riding hood: Wait, I don’t know my way back!

Enter trees

Tree: Oh look, it’s another scout ‘exploring’

Riding hood: Excuse me, can you help me find my granny’s house at the top of the mountain?

Riding hood and Tree start talking. Enter Wolf.

Wolf: Looks like I just found my dinner. *evil laugh*

Exit wolf

Riding hood: Thanks tree!

Exit riding hood and tree

Enter grandmother

Wolf knocks on door

Grandmother: Is that you, riding hood?

Wolf: *high voice* Yes grandmother, it’s me, green and gold riding hood!

Grandmother opens door. Wolf pushes grandmother into Icelandic, takes her headdress and lies down where grandmother was.

*Knock on door*

Wolf: *high voice* Green and gold riding hood, is that you?

Riding hood: Yes it is me, grandmother, can I come in?

Wolf: Of course dear, sit down beside me

Riding hood: Oh grandmother, what a big neckerchief you have!

Wolf: All the better to represent us with

Riding hood: Oh grandmother, what many badges you have!

Wolf: All the better to earn my chief scout badge with

Riding hood: Oh grandmother, what a nice spork you have!

Wolf: All the better to eat you with!

Wolf tries to eat riding hood, but woodchopper bursts in and kills wolf. He rescues grandmother from tent

Narrator: Green and gold riding hood and her grandmother were heroically rescued by their scout leader and they both earned their chief scout award! The end.

Camp Log

We arived at the site on Friday. Our patrol started setting up the camp at 7:30. By 11:00 we had our tents and most of the equipment that we needed sorted. We then went in our tents and went to sleep.

We awoke at 06:45 on Saturday morning and had breakfast. When the whistle sounded we finished off building the rest of the gadgets. During the day we did the bases. They included pioneering, first aid and navigation. Later in the day we made a delicious meal that everyone enjoyed. At 9 o'clock we went into the forest to do our sketch. It went better than we expected and we were a bit relieved.

On Sunday we awoke at 6:55 and started taking down our camp.

Overall our patrol had alot of fun this County Cup. I think this experience was amazing.
